#1 Surya Mudra
The practice of Surya mudra is useful in balancing the earth element within the body. Earth is the primary element in fat and hence it is helpful for reducing fat and resulting in weight loss. It is also known as Prithvi- shamak (destroyer of earth element) mudra.
With the reduction of earth, it also increases the heat inside the body and hence improves the digestion. That is why it is called Surya mudra. It also reduces stress, provides strength, and reduces cholesterol in the blood. This mudra is beneficial in diabetics too.

How to do
Bend the ring finger and place the tip of the ring finger on the base of the thumb and then gently press the thumb upon the ring finger. Duration – 15 to 40 minutes.
Avoid this mudra, if you have a fever.
If you are underweight then also avoid doing this mudra
Als,o avoid this mudra in hot summers.
Do this mudra in moderation if you are a Pitta excess or Kapha deficient person.
#2 Linga Mudra (Shiva Mudra)
This mudra increases fire element inside the body. Thumb represents the fire element. It is very effective in cold and cough, sinusitis, paralysis and low blood pressure. This hand gesture dries up the cough of the body and is very beneficial in shivering and chills in cold weather. Linga Mudra works really well with Asthma and other respiratory ailments.

How to do
Join both the palm and interlock the fingers. Keep the left hand thumb vertically straight and encircle it with the right hand thumb and index finger. Duration – 15 to 40 minutes.
Avoid doing this mudra if you are suffering from fever.
If you have a pitta governing body, then don’t do this.

#3 Apana Mudra
Also known as the purification mudra, the Apan mudra balances the Earth and Ether inside our body. This mudra cleans up the toxins of the body and hence energize all internal body parts.
It is beneficial in Kidney problems, diabetics, teeth problems, piles, gas problems, constipation. This mudra is very beneficial for the stomach. It is beneficial in heart problems. It increases the flow of sweat due to detoxification and hence helps in reducing fat.

How to do
Join the tips of the middle and ring finger with thumb finger. Duration – 15 to 40 minutes.
Practice in moderation if you are a Vata and Kapha governing body.

Whatever be the reason for your obesity, the base for obesity is the imbalance of the five elements of the body. Once the five elements balance themselves, obesity can get easily cured. With the usage of these mudras, you need to drink a lot of water as the body cleanses itself, and maintain the habit of moderate exercise or walk with a healthy diet.
